Position Summary:
Acuren is currently recruiting Intermediate Cathodic Protection Technicians. We are hiring for various locations in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.


Responsibilities:


  • Gather structuretosoil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
  • Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements
  • Install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points/stations
  • Locate pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electromagnetic and GPS equipment
  • Perform overtheline depth of cover, close interval CP and coating surveys
  • Identify and remediate AC and/or DC interference and foreign influence issues
  • Generate field sketches or update existing drawings with rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features to be included for final drafting
  • Document physical features of installation site for subsequent detailed asbuilt drawings
  • Organize and optimize survey information collected to prepare reporting charts and tables
  • Prepare survey reports, including remedial recommendations, and final job reports (if necessary)
  • Understand and execute various data acquisition and assessment procedures that are specific to pipeline integrity programs
  • Conform to corporate, client, and government operating and safety procedures
  • Develop trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients, as well as internal stakeholders
  • Maintain and calibrate field equipment, ensuring proper operating condition and render minor repairs as needed
  • Actively participate in technical development; accept training and mentorship to maximize quality and performance

Requirements:


  • 35+ years of relevant experience with a technical degree or diploma (or equivalent)
  • NACE CP 2 minimum; NACE CP level 3/4 and rectifier training are considered an asset
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record with remote location navigation experience, including ATV/Sled utilization
  • Be available to travel for multiple days to remote locations (>70%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective problemsolving skills
  • A strong team attitude with commitment to customer service
  • The ability to autonomously manage time and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting client / team expectations
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to adapt to changing work environments
