Data Center Customer Operations Technician III


Job Summary

Are you Interested in a new career in the Tech space? Do you want to learn how to Rack and Stack, build network cabling and run it in an organized, structured way? Then this opportunity may be for you
Data Centers are considered Critical Facilities. This means that we support hospitals, laboratories, public safety centers. Simply put - We cannot go dark. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and installing sophisticated circuits and custom installations.


Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack customer equipment
  • Read installation plans (Visio Drawings / Spreadsheets) and implements installation accordingly
  • Install circuits requiring sophisticated fiber terminations
  • Resolve work priorities from a ticketing queue and ensures adherence to commit times within standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot switched / multiplexed / media converted circuits; escalate to, and work with, networking group, as needed
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot issues
  • Install/test/modify cross connects per SOPs and ensures accurate cable management of coax, fiber, twisted pair copper, and intrabuilding cross connects
  • Maintain detailed written records of all work activity
  • Participate in cage / infrastructure modification projects
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner
  • Support customer happiness through timely and detailed order execution

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of work experience; experience with hand tools, troubleshooting, cabling preferred.
  • High School Diploma
  • You are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and are agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, et.) with or without an accommodation.
  • 24/7 Operation You are able to work any assigned shift, offschedule, fill in for workmate, respond to emergencies, etc.
