Technical Services Assistant
ISANS is seeking a part-time
Technical Services Assistant to assist in the operations of ISANS IT system network; delivering support to the IT Services team and frontline staff and IT users.
Desktop and user support
- Coordinate all new staff setups ensuring that the correct IT hardware, software and systems access is provided
- Orient and train new ISANS staff on basic hardware and software usage as part of the IT orientation
- Coordinate all returns of IT inventory as part of offboarding when staff go on leave or leave the organization
- Coordination of ISANS cell phone distribution and use
IT Inventory and Purchasing
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT items in storage and as issued to users, maintaining compliance with funder inventory requirements
- With management approval, purchase new items as directed to maintain inventory
- Respond to requests to purchase new IT hardware or software, purchasing items as required as directed and with management approval
- Implementing and enforcing standard procedures for consistent in hardware and software usage
- Disposal of technical equipment in accordance with funder and municipal regulations
Education
- Post-Secondary education related to IT is an asset but not required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
Experience
- Experience in a client service environment
- Experience in setting up IT software and hardware
- Experience training endusers on basic use of IT software and hardware
- Experience working in a cross cultural setting
- Experience managing inventory is an asset
Knowledge
- Knowledge of internet security issues and best practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Centre Suite an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 an asset
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux client/server operating systems and the associated hardware infrastructure is an asset
- Knowledge in networking ( Windows Domains, firewalls, cabling, Switches, and Routers) is an asset
- Knowledge of video and web conferencing is an asset

Terms of Employment:
- Fixed
- Parttime 17.5 hours per week
- During the COVID19 pandemic, your work location may be at ISANS' office or at home. Work location will be determined by operational requirements, public health recommendations, and government requirements.
