Scope:


Responsible for developing and implementing the daily fleet plan in a "real time" environment within the SOC (System Operations Control) operational window.

Synchronize the fleet deployment plan with consideration given to maintenance and operational restrictions, as well as commercial and customer service priorities.

The ARMs are expected to be the go-to resource in SOC for any operational issue relating to aircraft deployment outside day-of-flight.

They must ensure coordinated and thorough information flow between the SOC Planning Unit with Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Operations Control (MOC), airports, and other impacted departments.


Key Functions & Accountabilities:


  • Plan and monitor fleet assignments on a daily basis to support the published schedule, as well as planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that fleet deployment plans comply with all planned Maintenance activities.
  • Ensure routing of aircraft into scheduled airframe events. Monitor for changes to the schedule of airframe events based on current Heavy Maintenance Gantt chart requirements.
  • Assign fins to aircraft tracks in Netline Ops and ensure each aircraft is capable of completing the routing.
  • Monitor 'return to service' estimates, make needed schedule adjustments and communicate accordingly.
  • Ensure aircraft restrictions are monitored, communicated, and incorporated into the fleet plan.
  • Identify and secure backup aircraft to support both regular and irregular operations.
  • Initiate and provide ongoing support in the routing of chronically problematic aircraft to ensure known issues are addressed and fixed as soon as possible.
  • Work closely within the SOC Planning Unit to prepare for and manage irregular operations.
  • Monitor 3rd party MRO visits as well as repositioning flights in support of the Maintenance program and the corporate schedule.
  • Work with Maintenance Planning to ensure the overnight maintenance plan is viable and operational risks are identified and communicated.
  • Frequent communication with Corporate Scheduling in resolving problems that impact the fleet where there is potential impact to OTP or schedule feasibility.
  • Participate in daily maintenance and various other conference calls representing SOC.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Fundamental working knowledge of Air Canada's fleet.
  • Strong sense of initiative and leadership.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude under stress and when dealing with changing or conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including 24hour coverage, weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of both Airports, and Maintenance operations an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
