WorleyCord is seeking a Contracts Specialist to work with our growing team.


The Senior Contracts Specialist is responsible for the coordination of all third-party services required to support the ongoing operational, production and administrative functions of WorleyCord.

This encompasses all aspects of the supply chain from identification, negotiation, recommendation, award, administration and closeout of subcontracts.

Other functions of the Senior Contracts Specialist include supporting the business' short and long term goals with ongoing evaluation and development of subcontractors, improvement and development of processes, procedures and forms where required, negotiation of complex subcontracts or claims and the mentoring of other team members.

The Senior Contracts Specialist reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager in all matters.

In functional duties, the incumbent will liaise with all departments and branches including project and site construction managers, the module yard, the fabrication shop, estimators and other internal and external customers of WorleyCord.

Working Conditions:


  • Edmonton Head Office
    Hybrid Work from Home based schedule
:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Monday-Thursday 8.75 hours per day, Friday 5-hour day). Work from home available Monday and Friday.

  • Must have a reliable means of transportation as there is no public transit to our office location of Avenue NE, Edmonton, AB T6S 0A
  • Some projects may require short or long term site support. Flexibility to work on Jobsite locations is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain an efficient and effective supply chain base through the selection, qualification and ongoing management of suppliers and subcontractors. This will include the implementation and execution of processes with internal and external customers to address subcontractor prequalification, delivery, performance, quality, best value, service, technical improvements, safety and other related items.
  • Provide information on industry supply chain management practices including strategic sourcing, contract law, proposal solicitation, negotiation strategies, treatment of irregularities, securing best value, subcontract preparation, logistics, performance management, ethics, etc and recommend process improvements accordingly.
  • Research and recommend the approval of qualified suppliers / subcontractors by evaluating the financial status, capacities, quality, general technical capabilities and improvements, management, performance and delivery trends.
  • Responsible to work with the various project teams to develop scopes of work, safety and loss control, quality standards and other relevant issues.
  • Involvement in the ongoing training, operation, and maintenance of the WorleyCord computerized Field Procurement system and the Contracts Administration Management system.
  • Provide a leadership role in the planning, facilitating, developing, clarification, assessment and recommendation of RFI's, RFP's, RFQ's and other competitive proposal requests.
  • General subcontract formation, administration and coordination of approved and authorized proposals / agreements.
  • Maintain professionalism and remain current with new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, publications and in house training.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and ethics codes, i.e., Corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Undertake specifically assigned projects relating to the procurement and contract functions and provide summaries, reports, business cases and recommendations on projects along with other activities as required.
