As a Clinical Counsellor, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting individuals with complex mental, physical, and social health needs.

Position Type:
Part-time, 24 hours per week

Schedule:
Monday to Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Sr. Director of Health & Wellness

Location:
Community Impact Centre Marlborough Park, Calgary, AB


RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Facilitate individual, couples, family, or processstyle group sessions for diverse clients, including clients with concurrent disorders.
  • Provide individual case management and counseling to clients, including information gathering, assessment, case planning, case conferencing, monitoring client activities, strategic intervention, evaluation, referral, safety/recovery planning, discharge, followup, and crisis management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and management of client files, including observing, recording, and reporting on client progress and challenges, documenting, and distributing critical incidents according to policy, completing various forms and documents required for accountability and accreditation purposes, writing case notes, ensuring proper release of information records are in place, and protecting the confidentiality of client records.
  • Request/Facilitate case consultations with relevant members of the team to ensure effective assessment, treatment/safety planning and intervention.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute actively to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and supervision of students.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree in counselling psychology or social work.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in mental health counselling or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, as a psychologist and is currently registered, in good standing, with a Professional Regulatory Body.
  • Previous experience working with clients experiencing poverty, food & housing insecurity, substance abuse and the impacts of trauma an asset.
  • Prior clinical experience providing individual and group therapy.
  • Knowledge and skill in treatment planning and group facilitation.
  • Familiarity working in the areas of trauma, substance abuse and mental health.
  • Patientfocused orientation and commitment to providing quality services.
  • Selfmotivated and selfdirected with a demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision in a fastpaced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and balancing of competing priorities.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, including the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong relationshipbuilding and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of an interprofessional team.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, time management, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Positive, professional attitude.
  • Proficient with computers and technology; EMR experience preferred.
