About the role

  • As a Manager, Corporate Security, you will work directly with the Director, Procurement, Facilities and Security Operations ("the Director"). Working closely with the leads of CDIC's operational security programs, the Manager will oversee the broader corporate security program, including the enhancement of policies and procedures, personnel security, security event management, training, testing and awareness.
  • This role will be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto office following a hybrid model approach. This is a fulltime permanent opportunity. #LI-Hybrid

  • Manages and improves CDIC's Corporate Security Programs, liaising with operational security risk owners across the organization.
  • Identifies and manages corporate security risks.
  • Plans and manages the daytoday operations of CDIC's corporate security programs, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Plans and manages the daytoday operations of CDIC's personnel security program, including oversight of security clearances, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Develops, improves and maintains the corporate security policies and procedures.
  • Supports CDIC's business continuity program.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with CDIC staff and management as a recognized security authority. Provides expert guidance and advice on corporate security trends and acts as a change agent to create an organization culture which embraces the benefits of a secure business/working environment.
  • Coordinates with operational security risk owners and stakeholders (most notably Office Services and Cybersecurity) to ensure effective crossfunctional risk management.
  • Chairs and/or participates on various working groups/committees as a recognized corporate security authority.
  • Leads the investigation of highly sensitive corporate security incidents, involving appropriate external agencies as necessary. Develops and presents findings and recommendations to the Director, CSO and senior management.
  • Creates, maintains and delivers the security training and awareness campaigns for the corporation, in collaboration with the operational security risk owners.
  • During security events, delivers a defined lead role. Provides authoritative advice and updates and participates in post evaluation exercises.
  • Works with other teams (Simulations, Internal Audit, Cybersecurity etc.) on the development of simulation exercises to prepare for security events.
  • Prepares draft budgets and forecasts for the Corporate Security department for the Director's review and approval.

  • Strong problem solving and decisionmaking skills.

Must have

Language Requirements:
BBB (bilingualism in French & English, intermediate level)

Security Clearance:
Eligibility to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance
