THE OPPORTUNITY
Ambipar Response is currently seeking an Hazmat Manager.


The
Hazmat Manager is to perform the duties and responsibilities provided below in accordance to Ambipar's standard operating procedures and performance objectives, while adhering to the applicable health and safety regulations, and professional codes of conduct.


The Hazmat Manager will lead the development and future management of the target Hazmat service lines that have been identified, this will span from initial buildout to operational delivery.

The Hazmat Manager will utilize the Company's human and capital resources to attain the strategic (long term) and operational (day-to-day) goals of the Company.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Create and present a Strategic Plan to the President that includes market analysis, market strategy, product/service offerings, projected financial performance, Capex requirements and ROI. Prior to initiation of the Plan, approval will need to be granted by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Evaluate competitors and complementary service providers to identify M&A targets and opportunities.
  • Identify and develop marketing strategies that will pull through or push out revenue opportunities based upon existing customers and services of the other existing business sectors as well as sectors new to Emergency Response.

OPERATIONS/FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

  • Is accountable for all areas of the Hazmat operations.
  • Is accountable for driving and supporting the company safety program and culture as it pertains directly to Hazmat services.
  • Development of operational process' and client deliverables required to meet the objectives of the strategic Plan.
  • Providing the technical expertise required to grow the Hazmat team and service offerings.
  • Ensure that effective process' for approving and managing all invoicing and expenditures are being adhered to.
  • Create an annual (monthly) budget that is approved by the Vice President that supports the strategic plan and financial requirements of the Company.
  • Set monthly operating goals and KPIs around financial performance, quality objectives, service development, and business development targets.
  • Measure performance (financial, quality and service) regularly in the appropriate time increments for reporting of the KPIs.
  • Identify business development opportunities and targets to drive revenue growth.
  • Act as a corporate spokesperson/representative, (be aware of Company policy and regulatory requirements).

EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop and manage a talented team of Hazmat professionals required to attain the objectives set forth in the strategic plan.
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance, safety dedication, and achievement of their individual competency objectives.
  • Oversee the development of proper and effective technical and personal development training programs.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSEQ) REQUIREMENTS

  • Reviewing and adhering to the company HSEQ policies and procedures as directed by the HSEQ Manager;
  • Correcting hazards as soon as they are observed.
  • Immediately reporting to supervisory personnel all incidents, injuries / illnesses, near misses/hazard ID's;
  • Using equipment and tools (including rentals) as per manufacturer's specifications and SOPs;
  • Knowing the location, type and operation of emergency equipment and being familiar with sitespecific emergency procedures;
  • Refusing to perform work that poses an imminent danger and/or refusing to perform work they are not qualified to perform;
  • Participating in workplace inspections and monthly office safety inspections as directed by the HSEQ Manager.

EDUCATION:


  • Grade 1
  • Formal education in environmental hazard management, emergency management, environmental science or chemistry is an asset

WORK ENVIROMENT:


  • Both office and outdoor activities related to typical diverse environments and varied locations, ability to work in inclement weather conditions
