Associated Labels and Packaging is looking for a full-time Shipper/Receiver to join our team

Primary Responsibilities of the Shipper/Receiver:


  • Determines appropriate methods of shipment for orders by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates and routes
  • Examines outgoing shipments and ensures they conform to order specifications
  • Maintains and verifies records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Counts, weighs and measures incoming shipments and verifies information against invoices, orders, bills of lading or other records
  • Places finished products into cartons and secures items using fillers, spacers and protective padding and prepares for shipment
  • Attaches shipping labels on packed cartons; identifies shipping information on goods
  • Posts shipping charges and weights, and affixes postage
  • Examines and unpacks incoming shipments; ensures they meet purchase order specifications, records shortages and rejects damaged items
  • Operates lift truck or hoists shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area
  • Safely operate forklifts and power jacks to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Transports items to other departments as needed
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Receives defective or damaged returned goods and places them in the quarantine area for inspection
  • Follows all safety and foodsafe procedures and complies with company policies
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required to meet the needs of our operations

Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications of the Shipper/Receiver:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Propane/Electric Forklift Experience
  • Narrow Isle Forklift Experience
  • Computer Proficient
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Teamplayer
  • Time Management

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm (hours can be flexible)


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
$26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

  • Shipping: 2 years (preferred)
