Overview:


Are you looking for an opportunity to create engaging written content in a supportive environment with part time hours? This remote part-time role is an excellent opportunity for you to express your wide range of traditional and digital marketing and communications skills From writing corporate communications to helping create engaging social content (including design), to full-out marketing campaigns, the opportunities are endless and we'll work to match your unique skillset to our growing project list.


You may be a student, a recent grad, or a seasoned writing or communications pro looking for the flexibility of a part time role.

This part-time position (hours ranging from 10 to 15 per week), is for a period of 8 months, with a strong possibility of future permanent employment.


You will provide support in writing and editing articles, newsletter and website content, as well as thought-leader posts and blog entries.

There is also opportunity to create digital and print marketing content, as well as supporting our marketing and digital campaigns.


The person in this role is a strong writer and is well versed in digital communications best practices, and also has a firm awareness and understanding of current online culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to express their writing and organizational skillset with real autonomy, including tasks such as:
internal/external comms, marketing, PR, digital, web, branding, design, tech writing, video, and social media. We have some really exciting projects and campaigns underway

What The Role Involves:

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to match voice to message and audience
  • Ability to navigate shifting priorities easily
  • An independent worker who can problem solve on their own, but isn't afraid to ask for support
  • Assisting with digital strategies to engage our over 4000+ employees across Ontario
  • Creating and delivering staff communications and newsletter articles
  • Assisting the social media specialist with posts and engaging with community members in an honest and authentic way
  • Constantly identifying and using digital opportunities to communicate CarePartners brand to existing employees, potential employees, patients and the public
  • Assisting with PR and promotional opportunities with external audiences
  • Assisting team members with marketing campaigns, events and advertising
  • Supporting corporate teams with writing, design or editing assistance
  • Other writing, editing, design duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • Communications Studies degree program or equivalent
  • Strong writing and communications skills for various audiences
  • PowerPoint, Word, and Excel proficiency
  • Proficiency with all social media platforms, social media metrics, social media advertising, Buffer and Canva
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent oral, written and digital communications skills
  • Creative flair to create visually appealing designs that promote interest and readability using CarePartners' best practices guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically and creativelyAbility to travel to
Additional Requirements

  • Waterloo for monthly inperson team meeting
  • A short portfolio and/or writing samples may be requested

In addition to providing home-based health care, CarePartners also serves the community through clinics, transitional care units, and provides relief in retirement homes and shared care settings.

Through our Community Nursing Services outreach program, we've been organizing staff-led medical care and clinics in countries with poor access to health care since 2009.
