Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the accounts payable and associated financial reporting function at the Ville Saint-Laurent Head Office.
The incumbent performs a variety of clerical bookkeeping, accounting tasks and processes financial records following standardized accounting policies and procedures in relation to one or more accounting areas using the latest SAP software.
Key Responsibilities- Processes accounts payable in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Performs daytoday financial transactions, including verification, classification, computation, posting and recording of accounts payable data.
- Identifies discrepancies and resolves billing issues and vendor payment issues including contacting the vendor.
- Assists in the month end closing including routine journal entries.
- Produces timely and accurate reports.
- Provides clerical and administrative support.
- Keeps up with the workflow.
- Actively participates in special projects.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Accounting certificate/diploma (AEC or DEC).
- Minimum of two (2) years of Accounts Payable related experience.
- Bilingual
- Proficiency in English and French, spoken & written.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills in both languages.
- Respects and adheres to ethical principles regarding data protection and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Attention to detail, monitor and check work and information.
- Familiar with SAP as well as MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Problem solving and priority management.
