- Provides technical expertise and support for all DCS, PLC, and SCADA hardware, including configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades;
- Provides technical expertise and support for all ICS networks, telemetry, and all site OT (Operational Technology) infrastructure, including the PI Historian application suite;
- Supports the control room/operations, metallurgy, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to safely maximize production capacity in both processing and mining facilities;
- Performs any required preventive or corrective maintenance on ICS infrastructure. The incumbent must also continuously design and improve site maintenance procedures to maximize ICS availability;
- Uses Dhilmar standard ICS applications for alarm and controller performance, interruption reports, and electronic shift logs to improve system performance;
- Implements change requests and project support, adhering to existing site configuration standards and change management processes;
- Acts as an integral part of the instrumentation technician team on the floor, sharing time 50/50 or as needed;
- Collaborates with mining application specialists from the IT group for changes or additions to system programming (DCS, PLC, and others).
- Monitor the condition of surface ICS infrastructure and resolve any identified issues;
- Implement minor temporary and permanent software/application changes to ICS;
- Ensure or facilitate the implementation of projects impacting the site's industrial control systems;
- Participate in pre-startup and handover meetings for site operations and maintenance, staying informed of priorities, issues, and initiatives;
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving operational and maintenance problems related to ICS;
- Perform internal audits and preventive maintenance, minor upgrades, and spare parts validation for ICS infrastructure;
- Support site OT infrastructure and applications, particularly the PI Historian suite.
- A college diploma in Instrumentation and Control is essential;
- Additional qualifications in process control systems are desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience working with control systems in any related sector;
- Proven experience with at least one of the following systems:
- Rockwell Control/Compact Logix PLC
- CitectSCADA HMI systems
- Knowledge and understanding of the OsiSoft PI application suite is desirable;
- Use and understanding of industrial Ethernet networks;
- Knowledge of industry best practices for industrial control systems.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency;
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;
- High attention to detail and effective communication;
- Ability to work effectively with site teams across various control systems.
