Job Summary:


The Manager of Seniors' Services Coordinator the 411 Seniors flagship program, the volunteer-led Information and Referral program funded by the United Way of BC and coordinates the largest Community Volunteer Income Tax program (CVITP) for low-income seniors in the province.

The position reports to the Executive Director.

The Seniors' Services Coordinator will work in consultation with staff, committees and others to expand direct client services in response to the issues seniors are facing in the lower mainland.


Program Development and Management

  • Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment by welcoming and celebrating differences to ensure a supportive and engaging experience for all team members and clientele.
  • Manage program service delivery, ensuring optimal outcomes in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Design and implement volunteer recruitment and management plan.
  • As the organization grows and funding is secured, hire, train, manage and evaluate direct report program staff. Client Experience
  • Strengthen client outcomes and support volunteers and staff by developing partnerships at local community level
  • Solicit clientele, membership, volunteer, and community feedback on quality of services provided.
  • Scope opportunities for new partnerships and collaborate with existing internal and external partners to strengthen and maintain key client resource relationships. Attend partnership and stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate the program evaluation.
  • Write and implement program budget(s) in consultation with the Executive Director. Ensure service and program expenditures and operations are within approved budget parameters.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments and disseminating that information to others
  • Coordinate service delivery activities including program marketing and participant recruitment, data collection and reporting, management of collaborative relationships, and management of performance outcomes
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of program services, including preparation of group training schedules and the allocation of staff and material resources
  • Prepare narrative/statistical, administrative, endofcycle reports and followup reports as required. Oversee efficient maintenance of program files, client, and inventory records.
  • Performs other related duties which may include working with researchers and the Research Committee
  • To redesign, implement and manage the flagship program
  • Information & Referral Services.
  • To develop new programs and services that welcome seniors of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • To build close working relationships with seniorserving organizations, health and city departments, multicultural organizations, and other existing community programs.
  • To recruit, train, and support volunteers in leadership roles in the implementation of the day program. The position will create a program of educational opportunities including volunteer training.
  • To oversee the evaluation and reporting process. Involves gathering statistical information on contacts made and preparing progress reports on a monthly and annual basis.
  • To attend meetings that relate to seniors' issues as necessary
  • To supervise staff and provide leadership to team planning and meetings
