you'll:

DO

Most everything that MEDATech builds involves hydraulics. And not the simple kind. As a junior hydraulics expert, you will learn quickly.

You will research technologies and standards, assist in developing projects conceptually, produce detailed system designs and detailed drawings, assemble and test in the shop, and likely travel to client sites to commission, test and troubleshoot equipment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Research
  • Investigating relevant technologies, componentry and standards to meet project requirements.


  • Conceptual Design

  • Assisting in taking a project scope and developing it conceptually towards a feasible product.


  • Detailed Design

  • Producing system designs including block diagrams, schematics, and hosing diagrams, as well as 3D CAD models including assembly models in context of complete system designs and detailed concepts.


  • Design Analysis

  • Performing various engineering calculations and analysis to specify componentry and validate designs.


  • Detailed Drawings

  • Producing component and assembly drawings, generating required BOMs, and drawing packages.


  • Procurement Support

  • Releasing drawing packages to vendors, or purchasing and supporting in the production and delivery of components.


  • Assembly and Test

  • Handson work in a shop environment assisting with building, troubleshooting, and testing equipment.


  • Document Writing

  • Generation of spares lists, maintenance manuals and technical reports, as required for each project.


  • Engineering Changes

  • Completion of updates and revisions to maintain and improve on existing documentation.


  • Field Work

  • Traveling to client sites to commission, test and troubleshoot equipment.


  • Standards

  • Ensuring department priorities are met related to safety, quality, production, and task delivery/completion.

Position Qualification and Requirements:


  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in Engineering related field
  • The following experience would be considered an asset:
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical control systems
  • 2D/3D CAD software experience
  • Handson experience with various hand/power tools, welding, etc.
  • Strong mechanical and technical inclination
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Selfmotivated and capable of taking initiative to complete tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
