Description

General Labourer

Provides production support and performs manual labor along a production line. Provides quality, effective parts, while meeting production targets. Responsible for cleaning work areas and equipment and perform other tasks as required. May be assigned to a particular production area

Performance Expectations

Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
Maintain department 5S requirements.
Submit and implement lean and safety suggestions
Follow priorities set by supervisors and sequence their tasks within a set framework.
Perform quality checks as required.
Interfaces with Lead hands, Setup personnel, Maintenance workers and coworkers.
Responsible for quality control. Reject product outside of specifications.
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Communicate with operators from other shifts.
Provide onthejob guidance to new employees.
Learn continuously on the job; take part in inhouse training sessions to learn about new products or processes.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and notify your Supervisor or Manager of any known hazards

Credentials

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
1 3 years relevant work experience

Desired Characteristics

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Able to follow basic instructions
Able to perform repetitive tasks
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
Able to interact with coworkers to exchange information about tasks and to coordinate work.
Able to work mainly independently. Work with partners to carry out tasks which require cooperation.
Learn continuously on the job. Take training in first aid and in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Take part in inhouse training sessions to learn about new products or processes.

Physical Strength

Able to lift 4045 pounds on a repetitive basis.
Must be able to work three rotating shifts, and overtime as required.
