AMD Vancouver Office:

Our Vancouver site is currently being built and not yet open, the successful student(s) will be required to work remotely within British Columbia and then work hybrid and/or fully-on site once the Vancouver site is open.

COVID-19 protocols are being strictly followed.

Program Term

This role is a 4-month position
September 11, 2023 to December 22, 2023
Must be returning to school following the internship

The Role

What you'll be doing

Defining and implementing test plans including stimulus, checking and functional coverage plans
Developing test benches and test bench components in C++
Writing tests with constrained randomization
Debugging regression fails and fixing verification issues or working with designers to fix design bugs
Analyzing functional coverage and closing holes
Assist with silicon observations often requiring replication of behaviors in simulation to root cause
Writing testcases to validate performance and power
Creating and maintaining metrics and charting simulation performance

What would set you a part

Coursework or projects involving verification of a student architected design problem.
Coursework or projects involving software design and unit and integration testing.
Working experience in UNIX software environment.
Coursework or project involving System Verilog UVM test bench development a plus.


Requirements:

General Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field/discipline
Proven interpersonal skills, technical excellence and teamwork
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
Must be participating in a registered co-op program

Technical Qualifications

Object Oriented Programming with C/C++, and System Verilog, UVM
Scripting with Perl or equivalent languages
Simulation and debug with a Verilog based functional simulator.
Coding in x86 Assembly language
Strong knowledge of microprocessor architecture (x86 preferred)
