What's the Job

  • Execute engineering related tasks on multiple projects from bid to project close out.
  • Produce & revise production drawings using AutoCAD and other software tools as required, consistently ensuring standards and controls are adhered to.
  • Carry out material take offs and submit orders for production, continuously working with internal departments to ensure no production delays.
  • Issue RFPs accurately from all necessary information received (architectural/shop drawings/field dimensions) from customer to plant for production. Set up transfer meetings as needed with production staff to ensure clear and optimized directions are included to improve the results of the RFP's.
  • Collaborate & coordinate with Sales, Project Managers, R&D, and Production to understand initial job requirements, manage change orders/adds and provide a clearly defined path of construction.
  • Review and maintain assigned project files to ensure all details pertaining to the project are filed accordingly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required

  • Post-Secondary education in Architecture or Design and minimum 35 years of experience within related field.
  • Working knowledge of developing 2D architectural drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings (blueprints) and other construction documents.
  • Knowledge of building industry standards and practices and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively manage varying priorities according to tight deadlines and in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills
Preferred

  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD, 2D
  • Experience with 3D architectural drawings using AutoCAD definite asset, but not required.
