In addition to supporting organic growth of these businesses, we are seeking to acquire new businesses who will work alongside the existing portfolio expanding our functional, sectoral, and geographic coverage.

    Job Description:

    THE POSITION

    The Group Business Development Associate is central to our growth aspirations. Reporting to the Group M&A Manager and working closely with the Group Leader and Portfolio M&A team, you will provide expert guidance and oversight of BD activities and will represent the Group within our target markets and sectors. In this capacity, you will lead the charge identifying and contacting business owners, building relationships, and further developing potential acquisition opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and analyzing target sectors and industries to determine appropriate target candidates based on specific company characteristics
  • Developing and conducting prospecting campaigns of vertical market technology businesses through email, outbound calling, attendance at trade shows and conferences into designated target markets & sectors
  • Analyzing, maintaining, and developing our Salesforce proprietary database of acquisition targets and contacts
  • Gathering, reviewing, and presenting target company financial information to the Group and Portfolio M&A team
  • Building personable relationships with acquisition prospects selling the unique Volaris buy-and-hold forever strategy
  • Finding creative ways to get in contact with decision-makers despite firewalls built of assistants
  • Aiding with onboarding and training of new hires, with opportunities to take leadership roles within the M&A team for retraining, team management, and improving operational processes
  • Ownership and responsibility of the prospect journey from deal origination to initial analysis of operational & financial documents
  • Required Competencies / Experience:

  • Previous M&A experience (at minimum 1 year), preferably in deal origination
  • Salesforce CRM tools
  • Energetic, personable, and results-oriented
  • Previous experience (at minimum 1 year) showcasing advanced verbal and written communication skills in initiating and developing relationships with senior executives, lawyers, brokers, and investment bankers
  • Strong data management & analysis skills
  • Very well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work variable hours when required
  • Strong attentive listening skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to flex personal style to adapt to different personalities
  • Persuasive and engaging presentation skills
  • Confident self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude

  • Previous M&A experience in late-stage M&A processes
