We are seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to join our dedicated team at our Dorchester Centre.

Job Description

– Prepare course/training materials

Complete external paperwork as required in a timely manner
Maintain the quality of the learner programme to a sufficient standard to pass IQA and EQA criteria
Complete learner and delivery paperwork as required in a timely manner

– To deliver embedded English and Maths skills

– To deliver Maths and English GCSE/Functional skills

Provide Initial Assessment and diagnostic of the learner needs including English and maths using company standards
Teach wellbeing awareness
Attend business networking events to promote the activities of SWRAC
Support learners with LDD/SEND/ behaviour in a variety of classroom settings
Work closely with team members to ensure that ILP targets are monitored and reviewed
Be aware of individual learner's risk assessments and needs
Encourage independence and self-help skills wherever possible
Other duties of a commensurate nature as required

Person Specification

Essential

Recognised teaching qualification
Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent/ GCSE level 4)
Experience of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

Good organisational skills
Effectively supervise students both in college and outside the centre, adhering to the behavior policy.

Ability to support learners with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Innovative thinker with the ability to adapt teaching and support strategies.

Knowledge

Ability to relate well to vulnerable young adults
Understanding of behaviour management strategies
Understanding of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
General understanding of curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these settings

Experience of working with challenging young people in an educational establishment
