    We're seeking the brightest and most enthusiastic minds for a variety of jobs across the company. Currently, our Engineering team is seeking a full-time FPGA Designer for the interdisciplinary engineering and technology team in our Ottawa, ON office.

    The incumbent will design, implement and support of a variety of Software Defined Radio (SDR) FPGA-based projects. Projects focus on RF streaming, implementation of DSP algorithms as well as control systems for board management. Responsibilities will include FPGA specific requirements generation, design documentation, implementation, simulation, test vector generation and lab integration. The incumbent will have direct input into system design and architecture decisions on RF based systems.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Create high level block diagrams and documentation
    • Create projects on Xilinx devices (primarily) and Microsemi devices (occasionally)
    • Develop and document RTL code to implement designs, coding in IP Integrator, HLS, SystemVerilog and VHDL.
    • Create detailed test benches and perform verification including detailed timing analysis
    • Create detailed test plans for both simulation and hardware integration
    • Assist with the design and verification of digital schematics incorporating FPGA devices.
    • Test and troubleshoot engineering prototypes in a lab environment

    Requirements

    • Engineering degree focused on digital electronics/communications
    • Minimum 5 years of FPGA or ASIC design
    • Experience in VHDL and SystemVerilog
    • Experienced with ModelSim, Questa, Xilinx Vivado
    • Experience with ML and AI techniques on FPGA is highly desirable
    • Experience with SDR architectures is highly desirable
    • Experience with SoC architectures is highly desirable
    • Experience with Xilinx Vitis and Vitis AI is desirable
    • Experience with HLS, OpenCL or OpenCPI is very desirable
    • Experience implementing DSP algorithms is very desirable
    • Experience with PCIe is desirable
    • Experience with Xilinx Integrate Logic Analyzer (ILA)/Chipscope
    • Experience with JESD204C data converter integration
    • Some experience with software and scripting (C++, Tcl, Make, Python) is desirable
    • Working knowledge and a demonstrable ability to use lab equipment:
      • Oscilloscopes/Logic Analyzers
      • Signal generators
      • Spectrum Analyzers
    • Strong English communication and writing skills are essential
    • Must be able to obtain a minimum Secret Level II Security Clearance
