Intermediate-Senior Architectural Designer

3-5 years experience is required for this position.

On site, in-office. Georgetown, ON M-F

Flexible Hours, 37.5 hours a week

$25-30 an hour

Who we are:

Alana + Kelly Design Co. is a boutique architectural and interior design firm which offers a full-service residential planning/permitting and interior design in one. We are looking for a passionate, detail oriented and easy to connect with Architectural Technologist or licensed OAA to apply

We walk our clients through a 10-step process, which includes building permits to a fully furnished home and everything in between. The applicant will get to work in a collaborative environment and have exposure to both architectural and interior design while working with us.

Who you are:

Passionate about architecture and design

Possesses 3-5 years experience

Able to provide a portfolio of previous work and give references from previous employment

Graduate of Architectural Technology program at a post-secondary institution recognized by the Province of Ontario

Has experience in a Design or Architectural firm as a Technologist

Fully proficient in the use of AutoCAD

Excellent technical, design, and visual presentation skills

Detailed oriented with an eye for precision

Experience in custom Canadian residential design vernacular and construction methods

Have a valid driver's license and your own vehicle

Fully proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel

Knowledge or quick learning skills for other programs like Asana & Design Docs

What you will be Doing

Working out pre-design site constraints (zoning, heritage, conservation, site plan, etc.)

Developing and preparing schematic and preliminary work drawings from design concept sketches

Developing full working drawing sets for permit review

Reviewing shop drawings (grading drawings, HVAC designs, pre-engineered truss/floor packages, etc.)

Managing some client relationships including communication and meetings (e.g. phone calls, emails)

Managing all aspects of site relationships including site review and ongoing communications with contractors

Developing exterior construction detail packages

Developing architectural elevations and construction details
