    Leo Burnett Canada is looking for a Photo Retoucher who will be responsible for supplying high resolution images for Digital and Print advertising and design.

    We are looking for someone who is a creative, a strong problem solver and understands the production process.

    Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high quality of image retouching and colour correction and work closely with other retouchers and studio team members.
  • Take verbal and written instruction and direction from Creative & Design teams and Producers. Attend pre-production meetings for briefs on new jobs. Seek clarification and ask questions if briefing details or roles are unclear.
  • Understand production issues and the various options, including specific requirements for digital, out-of-home, direct mail, collateral, point of purchase, magazine, and newspaper.
  • Meet deadlines by planning workload accordingly, together with the Retouching team and Producers, by estimating time required to complete assignments.
  • Organize supplied files in their proper folders, file working elements to the server, and supply final art for print, web, social, digital and broadcast.
  • Organize and archive completed jobs and maintain internal client image assets.
  • Track the time logged on each project and complete accurate timesheets daily and weekly.
  • Contribute to new-business projects and prepare presentation materials as required.
  • Output printer proofs on the large-format Epson printer when required.
  • The role may be required to work weekends and after hours to meet deadlines
  • Qualifications

  • College or equivalent graduate in relevant field or related experience
  • 10+ years in a studio/agency environment or similar (full-time or freelance)
  • Expert understanding of all file formats, color profile, and industry-pre-press standards.
  • Fully proficient in Photoshop and Camera RAW (processing files etc..), excellent knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign. Working knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Knowledge of print specifications and the use of InDesign templates to judge final art size, bleed, appropriate file formats, colour conversion and ICC profiling.
  • Must have a portfolio or work samples showing before and after
  • Proficiency in Capture One is an asset, but not a requirement.

  • Able to mentor other studio retouching staff and operate independently.
  • A team player who is patient and has a sense of humour
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot and bring creative solutions to the team.
  • Experience in meeting tight deadlines and the ability to assess production needs (an understanding of the production process)
  • Awareness and developing ability to work with emerging AI functionality.
