What we need:
A motivated accounting professional with a high level of attention to detail who:

  • Is exceptionally detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task
  • Has previous accounts payable experience
  • Has knowledge of the full accounting cycle leading to and including financial statement and audit preparation
  • Has postsecondary education and/or accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Has experience using QuickBooks
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Has excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Is an enthusiastic and motivated team player

What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the general accounting functions of the organization, which will include the following:

  • Interacting with staff at other Job Skills' locations regarding Finance related matters
  • Providing assistance with the preparation of financial reports and spreadsheets
  • Completing the full accounts payable cycle
  • Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Paying vendors by scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase orders, invoices, or payment discrepancies
  • Verifying travel and expense reports from employees
  • Assisting with monthend and quarterly reporting (preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing report packages)
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reporting to government agencies according to contracts
  • Processing deposits and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assisting with general finance duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum education requirement is a postsecondary education, preferably in accounting and/or related experience
