Description

The Machinist is responsible for operating a DUS conversational lathe in a safe and efficient manner, finishing product accurately and working effectively with team members to get orders completed and shipped on time.

The Machinist reports to the Plant Supervisor.

What You'll Do:


  • Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Set up, operate and monitor machines in a responsible, diligent, and efficient manner. Fix programs during production runs as required. Use measuring tools, gauges and controls as required.
  • Carry out work order instructions to program machines to customer specifications. Manufacturing routine, complex and nonroutine parts from raw materials.
  • Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents and drawings.
  • Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant.
  • Plans and prioritizes workload to complete work orders within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources for each job.
  • Complete product documentation for work carried out. Route the product and related documentation to the appropriate location once completed.

What You Bring:


  • Experience programming and running a conversational Dus lathe required.
  • Threading experience preferred.
  • Milling experience considered an asset.
  • High school diploma.
  • General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
  • General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.

Where You'll Work:


  • Shop floor environment, extended standing and working with products.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
