Service Advisor MacKay's Truck and Trailer Center Limited, Truro Location

MacKay's Truck & Trailer Center is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating a full-line Volvo, Mack, and Hino Truck dealership, with locations in Truro and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

We currently have a job opening for a permanent full-time Service Advisor working Monday to Friday with a Saturday rotation.

Truro Truck Center operates an 18 bay fast paced repair shop, and the Service Advisor must be able to multi-task and work under moderate pressure.

The advisor must be able to work well both independently and with the team to ensure smooth communication between the front counter, the service shop, the parts department, and the warranty department.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Greeting customers in a prompt and courteous manner
Answering incoming calls for service
Communicating with the customers regarding the status of their vehicles
Sending and presenting quotes and estimates to customers to get approval for the required work
Scheduling appointments
Advising customers on recommended OEM maintenance work and other preventative maintenance items that may be recommended
Providing follow up and revised quotes and estimates
Performing the Dealer Service Advisor training to obtain a Master Service Advisor certificate
Complying and maintaining all Dealer requirements
Any other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Strong customer service skills
Highly motivated and selfdirected
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to build relationships and prospect new accounts Required Experience
Industry experience and/or a comprehensive knowledge of heavy truck and trailer industry is considered and asset
Previous Service Advisor/ Dispatch experience is considered an asset.
Knowledge of CDK/ ADP and ARI is also considered an asset. The position offers a competitive compensation package that includes medical/dental benefits and a matching RPP plan.
