You can follow lab processes and procedures exactly, enter the associated data reliably and correctly, and discern subtle differences in lab samples, including urinalysis.

The position includes day shifts.

Rimbey is a small town with easy access to Red Deer and less than two hours from both Edmonton and Calgary located at the junction of Highways 20 and 53 in the Blindman River valley.

It is a farming community with the oil and gas sector playing an important role also.

Description:


As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years experience in a medical laboratory working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. Equivalencies may be considered. Cardiology training and experience including ECG's and Holter Monitors.


All blood collection procedures including:

venipuncture, micro punctures, blood culture collections as well as collections on all patient ages including newborns, pediatrics and geriatrics.

Recent macro and micro urinalysis experience.
