    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Director, Actuarial Services, the Sr. Actuarial Analyst will play a key role in providing actuarial services to the organization.

    Responsibilities
    • Supports the Director in preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual Insurance Contract Liability valuations and the Appointed Actuary's Report.
    • Works with the Director to prepare the annual Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and assist in Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and other capital management initiatives.
    • Working cross-functionally, collaborate with Controllership, Modelling, FP&A, and IT in various ad-hoc projects i.e. loss projection model enhancement, business plans, etc.
    • Validate new actuarial models and enhance existing models and processes.
    • Responsible for solving non-traditional actuarial challenges with a focus on tail risk.
    Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
    • Actively pursuing FSA/FCAS or financial professional with solid programming skills.
    • 3-5 years of progressive actuarial experience in the Financial Services industry required. Prior experience in the Mortgage Insurance Industry would be an asset.
    • Extensive knowledge of programming software required (i.e. R, Python) and knowledge of Prophet is preferred.
    • Progressive experience with IFRS 17 reserving and predictive modelling preferred.
    • Familiar with Canadian regulatory valuation requirements for quarterly and annual reporting.
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail, with the ability to complete the actuarial reporting processes accurately using fact-based analysis.
    • A self-starter with the ability to work independently. Adaptable and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive work environment by actively participating in department initiatives and engaging in open communication and adaptability to enhance overall department performance.
