Human Resource Specialist - Fredericton, Canada - Under One Sky

Description

Reporting to Under One Sky's Director of Operations, this position is responsible to support all human resource functions of the organization including recruitment and hiring activities, policy development, and benefits administration.

• Support employee orientation including obtaining Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector and Social Development checks, process payroll related paperwork, and provide overview of personnel policies and procedures.
• Maintain employee records.
• Manage current policy and procedure manuals and identify gaps and updates as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Provincial and Federal employment legislation.
• Develop and maintain performance management system for all employees in collaboration with their direct supervisor.
• Design and implement effective training and development plans.
• Respond to employee queries and provide resolutions.
• Administer and manage employee benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Postsecondary education with a focus on Human Resources, and/or 13 years of related experience.
• Superior written and spoken communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector.
• Positive attitude and commitment to continual process improvement.
• A Criminal Background/ Vulnerable Sector and Social Development check will be required before hiring.
