Description
Division 2 is a demolition and hazmat abatement contractor with jobsites throughout Lower Mainland.

As a CSO you will report directly to the HSE Manager and will be responsible for monitoring safety performances, completing daily site inspections and ensuring the project is properly implementing Division 2's Health and Safety Standards.


The Duties of the Construction Safety Officer may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide first aid treatment within scope of training.
  • Perform daily site safety inspections.
  • Maintain first aid facilities and equipment.
  • Prepare JOHS Committee Meeting Minutes.
  • Implement and monitor Division 2's safety program and related policies.
  • Monitor the safety performance of all onsite workers.
  • Hold toolbox talks.
  • Ensure safety reports, orientations, meeting minutes and data are collected and submitted to the Superintendent and Construction Manager as required
  • Other duties assigned by the HSE Manager.

Skills and Requirements:


  • Must have a vehicle and a valid class 5 Driver's License.
  • Minimum Occupational First Aid Level 1 required
  • Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification or equivalent.
  • 19 years of experience working in Demolition and Hazmat Abatement. Knowledge of procedures and process.
  • Strong working knowledge of local residential/commercial construction practices and WorkSafeBC Regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with and/or learning new software programs (i.e.
SiteDocs).

  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$22.00-$26.00 per hour
