You'll get to work on:

We are looking for full time and/or part-time Speech-Language Pathologists. If you have experience in pediatrics that is a big bonus.


The primary duties of this position include taking ownership of clients and seeing them through to delivery while ensuring communications within our team and with the clients are clear.

We're a smaller team with lots on the go, and team members generally fill multiple roles; versatility and flexibility are critical traits for all team members.


Some of the things you need to know:

  • Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Evaluate patient upon initial encounter to determine need for SLP intervention.
  • Plan SLP treatment program for each patient, based upon interpretation of evaluation results; interpret evaluation findings for patient, family, and treatment team members.
  • Develop realistic goals with patient input; explain treatment plan and goals to patient.
  • Terminate SLP when patient has attained maximum benefit from SLP; provide inservice education to members of treatment team to ensure followthrough of treatment program.
  • Evaluate, record and report on client's progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team. Communicate effectively with other members of the team.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct and participate in training SLP techniques and objectives. Participate in educational programs and inservice meetings. Participate in continuing education program to ensure appropriate units are attained for maintenance of Provincial license. Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and requested.

Requirements:

We do expect you to have:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Must be registered with the Canadian Association of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists and the BC Association of Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Valid BC Drivers license and vehicle
  • Clearance of a Criminal Record check upon hire
  • Current Basic First Aid Certification, or obtain certification within one (1) month of employment

Preferred

  • Experience in a serving the same age/type of patient population
  • RASP certified (not required but it's preferred)
