About the role


Business Analysts are at the centre of how Transformation shapes, delivers and embeds change working with the business and our delivery partners.

This Business Analyst role is located in the WPB Business Transformation Team of HSBC Bank Canada.


Responsibilities:


  • Understand the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) strategic priorities and how they connect to the vision and objectives of the project(s) assigned.
  • Work with business lead and product owner to articulate ideas into business requirements and processes that delivery partners can translate into solution and change intervention designs.
  • Support product owner in defining success criteria, business outcomes and measurable KPIs that align closely to project objectives and from there manage appropriate scope.
  • Keep customer centric focus and use end user perspective to validate that requirements, solutions and deliverables are aligned to the delivery of business outcome.
  • Contribute to change activities which can include diverse tasks such as resource planning, budget forecast, timeline planning to stakeholder engagement.
  • Support project manager in proactively managing risks and issues, and contribute to effective management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Change & Implementation team on activities such as audience analysis, training, and communication to ensure effective embedding of change and realization of benefits.
  • Adhere to Business Transformation Framework, working within project controls and procedures and follow the established quality assurance processes.

  • Influencing and challenging stakeholders to facilitate acceptance and commitment to change.
  • Design future state business architecture by translating business requirements into an operating model and design with impact mitigation.
  • Familiar with change management approach and techniques to manage implementation endtoend, gain commitment and ensure adoption.
  • Embrace Agile, proficient in a fastpaced environment where changing business priorities may result in reprioritization of requirements, scope and time to market. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the way of working.
  • Understanding products, channels and propositions, be well informed of their features and benefits and how HSBC differentiates from competitors. Suggest improvements to improve customer experience.
  • Effectively engage with customers/stakeholders/colleagues, understand, respond to and anticipate their changing needs and priorities; demonstrating inclusive behaviour, valuing diversity. Communicating openly and honestly and conveying information in simple and understandable ways to build trusting relationships; working collaboratively within and across boundaries.
  • Understand HSBC priorities, keep up to date with external market innovations and use your understanding to identify opportunities.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to bring structure to complex projects for analysis and resolution.
  • Remain effective in dynamic working environment and use good judgement in decision making sometimes with limited information.
Requirements

  • University Degree with 5+ years of relevant working experience, professional accreditation/training is desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and its regulatory environment, preferably with experience implementing change in the banking industry. Front line branch experience will be considered an asset.
  • Experience gathering requirements and conducting design activity, with a mix of business, operations and technology focused projects.
  • Exposure to business case development and "designled change" tools, e.g. customer value proposition, business process design.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Good knowledge of Business Transformation and experience in Agile way of working an asset.
