Purpose:


The purpose of a Production and ERP Specialist/Coordinator is to facilitate the transition of information between our engineering/design groups and production.

The Production and ERP Specialist/Coordinator is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining Product codes and Manufacturing Bills of Materials per relevant standards to support order management, manufacturing, material requirements and costs.

And he performs multi-level BOM entry and verification as well as issuing work orders to production.
This position is an integral part of Planning department and works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and other departments. Responsible for ensuring the data is timely and accurately entered into ERP.

Will be working as a key member of the planning team with the key objective of providing accurate, complete and harmonized data for the Supply Chain and Manufacturing.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Verify and maintain all part numbers leveraging proper revision control within the ERP system.
  • Create, verify and maintain all Bills of Materials and routings within the ERP system based on engineering documents, customer drawings and documentation.
  • Liaise with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing and Production to determine best methods and materials for manufacturing.
  • Continually improve processes to maintain BOM schedule to meet due dates.
  • Analyze results of BOM's to determine accuracy of data.
  • Enter, track, and maintain engineering change notices.
  • Assist Purchasing in determining materials required
  • Support and execute best practices in accordance with the materials management strategy for setting up, maintaining items for all Whitewater West Industries units
  • Participate in cost saving initiatives in accordance with Strategic Purchasing Plan
  • Regularly monitor accuracy of item data in ERP, using available system tools and reports
  • Maintain the Item Master data in ERP.
  • Resolve item data discrepancies.
  • Liaise with other users working with Item Master Maintenance when necessary
  • Publish metrics relating to Item Master and Production Module KPIs
  • Research, analyze and suggest solutions to item master related problems encountered by any and all ERP user.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and procedures to improve systems, processes, data accuracy and schedule support
  • Lead one continuous improvement project per year
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a similar position
  • Understanding of manufacturing BOMs, part numbers, routings, revision levels and ERP systems.
  • Must have recent (within last 3 years) experience creating and maintaining multilevel BOM's / Routings.
  • Experience with D365 process will be considered an asset
  • Handson experience and indepth knowledge with manufacturing processes such as welding, assembling, painting and theming etc.
  • Knowledge of material characteristics and selection
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
  • Post-Secondary school education in related field an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
