    Posting Summary Competition Number F18686P Position Title Instructor (Sustainability and Climate Change) - School of Tourism Management Employee Group Faculty Position Status Regular Part-Time Position Type Instructor Special Appointee Others please specify Workload Amount 4 Department Tourism Management Additional Notes Location North Vancouver What you'll do The School Tourism Management is looking for an industry professional to teach courses in the areas of tourism sustainability (UN Sustainability development Goals), climate change impacts on the global tourism industry, and central concepts of environmental stewardship.

    This role is expected to be able to teach at all levels of our programs, from 1st year to 4th year, while engaging domestic and international students into the programs, content, and industry.

    In addition, regular faculty members are leaders within the department and are expected to be active in the development of curriculum, programs, and partnerships that enhance the brand and student experience.

    This work may be spread out over 3 terms.

    Course outlines and access to materials are provided but it is expected that the instructor will continue to build on existing course content to include topical and relevant resources, experiences, and examples.

    The instructor will also meet with faculty who teach complementary courses to ensure progression of student learning.

    What you'll bring Qualifications Required:

    • Masters in Tourism Management, or related fields.
    • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
    Preferred: · PhD in related field.· Relevant adult education training and/or qualifications such as the Provincial Instructors Diploma Instructional Skills Workshops.

    Industry Experiences and

    Competencies Required:

    • Applied experience and comprehensive knowledge of tourism sustainability, environmental stewardship, UNSDGs, and climate change impacts on the tourism industry.
    • The ability to engage students through a combination of theoretical content based and applied teaching methods.
    Preferred: · A record of teaching excellence at the post-secondary level.
    Publication(s) on a relevant topic(s) or in related field(s).
