    We're looking for a Structural Engineer (Junior or Intermediate) to join our growing Canadian Operations. To be successful, you must have a minimum of 5 years of diverse structural engineering experience in various industries including rail, stations and transportation facilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, energy, solid waste, food, agricultural, environmental, and other industrial buildings.

    The Structural Engineer ( Junior or Intermediate) will support the senior and lead structural engineers assigned to the projects and collaborate and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

    Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Support the execution and delivery of existing and new projects in a design-build environment to advance design packages by assisting senior and lead structural engineers and providing value-added design solutions in conformance with operator requirements and client/end-user/project output specifications.
  • Demonstrate experience in structural design of various concrete and steel structures and shoring systems.
  • Ensure accurate completion of project deliverables and able to work on several projects at once and determine priorities, including sound judgment and decisiveness.
  • Produce and assist senior and lead engineers in producing FE models and engineering drawings and details from conception to final design, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of steel and concrete structures.
  • Work with CAD staff and junior staff, prepare and assist in the preparation of construction specifications tender and contract packages, and conduct site inspections of existing structures as well as those under construction.
  • Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC processes for project work.
  • What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Must be an active applicant to or registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and possess a . license. (Mandatory)
  • 5 to 10 years of diverse structural engineering experience that includes water, wastewater, and process-driven facilities and transit facilities. (Mandatory)
  • Conversant with National Building Code - NBC and provincial building codes, CSA codes, AREMA, and CHBDC.
  • Solid understanding of various municipal and OPS technical specifications and standards.
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for completed work.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong digital literacy including experience in structural analysis and design software (SAP 2000, ETABS, SAFE, and ROBOT), AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent report and proposal writing skills.
  • Positive demeanor, good communication, and social skills.
