Established in 2007, QuartzCo is a leader in the Ontario stone installation and fabrication industry.

With a continued focus on service and customer relationships, QuartzCo Surfaces is expanding and hiring an Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily operations and monthly routines.

Located in the middle of the Niagara region QuartzCo Surfaces head office is a pleasant commute from nearby St. Catherines, Niagara Falls or Welland.

Accounting Supervisor


Job Overview


Reporting to and partnering with the Controller you will provide advice in strengthening internal controls, Company procedures, and meeting informational requirements of Company's executive and managers.

This will include supporting the timely preparation, analysis, and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages and assist in the annual financial close and working papers routines.


Responsibilities and Duties will be as mentioned but not limited to:
You will work closely with the accounting team in managing financial functions:

  • Oversee daily transactions for A/R including recording sales and collections, A/P including vendor relations and disbursements, cash management, expense reimbursement activities and credit card controls.
  • Perform general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations.
  • Assist in monthly reporting routines including development and analysis of financial statements.
  • Participate in payroll activities, working papers, statutory government reports and remittances, inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller.
  • Ensure compliance with the law.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from a formal educational accounting program and progressing towards a CPA designation. We can offer financial support towards that goal and an environment providing full cycle accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and problemsolving ability
  • Attention to detail, and responsive to customers, vendors and management.
  • Supervise, coach and evaluate a team of two or three persons.
  • Quick Books experience will be ideal while two years accounting systems use is mandatory.
  • Strong computer skills are given especially MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Concur, Slabsmith, BMO online business banking, will be an asset.

Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
