Position Summary:


Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate with employees and managers regularly to establish rapport and create an environment that promotes well-being and positive morale.
  • Coordinate/support any and all aspects of the recruitment process and life cycle from end to end. Manage administrative aspects of recruitment including, applicant tracking, file management, scanning and other clerical functions.
  • Onboarding of new employees
- arranging for the required documentation, and coordinate with cross-functional departments to foster a positive attitude towards organizational objectives.

  • Prepare status change forms and various types of letters including employment confirmation, reporting changes, promotion, discipline, etc. Complete other HR administrative functions, including reporting, and maintenance of electronic and paper personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Assist with performance reviews process and organizational training and development efforts.
  • Be an active member of the social committee team and assist in coordinating employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Assist with Health and Safety including WSIB claims and return to work processes. Work with JHSC to investigate and report on accidents for WSIB where applicable.
  • Abide by, support, and ensure compliance with all pertinent Canadian laws including, but not limited to the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Company specific policies and procedures.
  • Assists HR Manager with various research and special projects.
  • Consistently support and promote a safe and harmonious working environment.

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated applicable experience. Overall knowledge of human resources function, practices, and procedures, particularly as related to full cycle recruitment.
  • Strong communication, decision making skills and possesses good judgement.
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Detail oriented, extremely organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask a variety of coordinative and administrative tasks.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to Human Resources and best practices.
  • Stress tolerance due to fluctuations in workload.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS.

Academic/Education Requirements:


  • Postsecondary certificate in Human Resources or related field.
  • Working towards or having a Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP) is an asset.
