Our Rockwood facility is located just 20 minutes North of Winnipeg, near Stony Mountain, MB.

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Winnipeg has an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Intermediate Chemist role to join our team at the Rockwood Propellant Plant.

Our Rockwood facility is located just 20 minutes North of Winnipeg, near Stony Mountain, MB.

Essential Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining standards and procedures for analytical methodologies and techniques using standard quality control to computerized instrumentation.

Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine chemical and physical properties for all related inorganic and organic raw materials and formulations.

Leading and participating in the implementation of new R&D projects, materials and processes.

Liaising with external technical agencies, suppliers and customers or internal support groups to improve or resolve problems related with materials, processes and formulations, and their associated instrumentation and testing.

Supervising / directing work performed by other chemists and technicians.

Position Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Master of Science in Chemistry will be considered an asset.
3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
Experience in solid propellant formulations and explosive manufacturing considered will be considered an asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
