Position Summary
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Audits including, Inprocess product inspections, scheduled dimensional tests, quick dimensional verifications, etc.
- LPA audits, process audits, quality alert / process change audits and monitoring
- Utilize manual gauging and operate FARO AND CREAFORM EQUIPMENT as needed.
- Detailed usage of GD&T techniques
- Extensive use of Polyworks, Solidworks and MicroSoft Office Software
- Inspect and monitor weld analysis activities
- Assist in scheduling & monitoring other lab activities
- Train operators on quality alerts, gauge and weld procedures
- Preparing inspection reports for internal and external use
- Reporting results to relevant departments & Engineers; assist and provide support as required for improvement activities
- Inspecting incoming material per receiving inspection requirements.
- Sorting of product based on visual aids.
- Completion of necessary forms and paperwork.
- Understand TS processes for nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes.
- All other assignments necessary to support internal and external customers.
- Adhere to all H&S, environmental laws and procedures.
- May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards requiring basic math skills.
- Use technical skills and knowledge to identify cause of problem.
- Actively participate in ongoing continual improvement activities and initiatives
- Participate and support the EHS management system
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum, College Diploma in related field
- Previous welding experience is an asset
- Knowledge of S.P.C. i.e. Histograms, X and R charts, Cpk.
- Familiar with TS16949 requirements considered an asset.
- Must be able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings in addition to GD&T, Weld Symbols.
- Able to use measuring equipment effectively, micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products.
- Possess interpersonal skills to interact with supervisor to coordinate work and exchange information.
- Ability to work independently, coordinating work with work of others (i.e. operators, supervisors) as needed.
- Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field.
