About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director of Cancer Care Operations for Central Zone and working as part of a collaborative leadership team, the Program Manager will lead the provincial Cancer Care at Home (CCaH) initiative within the Nova Scotia Cancer Care Program.


The CCaH Program Manager will collaborate provincially with Cancer Care Leaders, Physician Leaders, Interprofessional Practice and Learning, and other clinical partners to develop, design, implement, manage and evaluate a program approach to delivering safe, equitable and fiscally responsible care at home for individuals with cancer.

The CCaH Program Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the Oncology Virtual Care team.

The CCaH Program Manager will be responsible for day-to-day program operations, standards of care, and maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.


The Manager adopts continuous quality improvement principles, innovation, and technological initiatives to advance Nova Scotia Health's commitment to enhance access to cancer care.

The Manager facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of Nova Scotia Health.


Working with the Cancer Care Program and other Clinical Networks, the Manager will support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives to support and improve the delivery of health care services across the continuum.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Master's Degree in a healthrelated discipline, health administration, business administration, or similar an asset
  • Minimum of 35 years working experience and responsibilities in a leadership or management position
  • 35 years' experience in oncology
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association
  • Certification/Membership in specialty area preferred
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation an asset or a willingness to obtain
  • Experience in healthcare planning, operations, and clinical experience an asset
  • Project Management Professional certification is an asset
  • Experience in project work, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and operational readiness is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and implement transformative initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with partners and team members in a virtual environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain networks at local, national and international levels
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of health care service initiatives
  • Experience in financial planning
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
