    An opportunity to provide branch direction and leadership in the Resource Stewardship Division

Job Requirements:


Education & Designation:


  • Undergraduate Degree or higher in biological sciences or equivalent plus three (3) or more years of related experience, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered, AND
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) in BC with the College of Applied Biologists (CAB)

Note:

immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the CAB within six (6) months of employment.

Related experience includes:


  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring and/or managing technical and/or professional teams in a resource management context.

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff tasked with managing wildlife and/or wildlife habitat resources.
  • Experience leading and monitoring projects specific to wildlife and/or terrestrial ecosystem management.
  • Experience negotiating agreements with other levels of government or First Nations.
  • Experience collaborating and working with First Nations on wildlife management.
  • Comprehensive experience in regulatory management in the natural resource field.
  • Experience managing technical and/or professional staff in resource management or infrastructure development.
  • Experience engaging in public consultation processes dealing with natural resource management.

About this Position:

Currently there is 1 permanent opportunity available.
This position can be worked from the following communities: Penticton and Kamloops. Other locations may be considered.
This position has on-site field requirements.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent opportunities.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
