Position Overview/Role of the Project Development Lead
The Project Development Lead will lead YWCA Halifax's efforts to expand our childcare and housing initiatives. The Project Lead will be key in managing YWCA Halifax's childcare and housing expansion and development projects.
They will be responsible for a variety of related activities, including but not limited to:
- Project planning.
- Oversee project budgets.
- Program model development.
- Site selection and contract negotiations.
- Coordinating capital renovations and retrofits.
- Vendor management.
- Collaborate with external consultants and manage relationships with project funding partners.
- This position be responsible to prepare regular and ad hoc reports as required.

- Ability to navigate legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Negotiation and relationship brokering.
- Financial assessment and management.
- Project development and implementation.
- Verbal and written communication.
- Risk assessment and management.
- Collaboration and partnership building.
- Independent work and workplan development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Five years of experience in project management.
- Demonstrated capacity for leadership and program development.
- Demonstrated skills in budget preparation and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships both internal and external to the organization.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- High level of computer literacy and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands.
