ABOUT THE ROLE:


The Regional Human Resources Manager provides overarching support and direction to Sephora Stores and Field Leadership on all aspects of Human Resources including talent retention, employee relations, policy interpretation, health & safety and performance management.

The Regional HR Manager supports multiple provinces within the region and should be well versed in provincial labour laws and practices.

They will work with Field Leadership to elevate their capabilities in HR practices and coach them on how to best handle the talent demands of their districts or stores.

This role also collaborates closely with the Regional Director to define and identify market based HR strategies that are aligned with field objectives.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Overall

  • Implement people strategies related to the Employee Journey that align to the field business initiatives; understand and learn the broader business/company goals and translate those into the HR vision.
  • Establish consistent HR practices across all stores.
  • Find opportunities to improve current processes and practices and lead change.
  • Ensure alignment and consistent execution of HR initiatives and support the cascade and roll out of major HR programs.
  • Coach field managers on how to use their time most efficiently and effectively as it relates to HR issues.
  • Provide consistent communication to the HR Director, Retail Canada regarding employee relations issues.
  • Travel tour stores in specific market proactively and on demand 2 visits/year for each market
Employee Relations

  • Guide, train, and direct on the interpretation and execution of policies and processes to maintain compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance with applicable provincial Employment Standards legislation and Human Rights.
  • Investigate and resolve all employee relations complaints and concerns in accordance with company guidelines and open door policy.
  • Support Loss Prevention investigations with appropriate HR advice, documentation and counsel.
  • Diagnose performance concerns/opportunities and identify root causes, offering effective and wellrounded solutions.
  • Create and implement proactive employee relations strategies.
Health and Safety Program

  • Support and reinforce Occupational H&S Regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure stores consistently follow the corporate H&S program and all relevant guidelines, including required trainings and monthly H&S joint committee meetings.
  • Liaise with store leaders and Assistant HR Manager on workers' compensation claims management and return to work programs.
HR Critical Metrics

  • Consistently build and review HR metrics platforms which align to sustainable field initiatives and objectives.
  • Focus on building integrity of key data based on strategic insight and the needs of the differing markets and region.
Employee Engagement

  • Support Sephora's leadership planning process; coordinate and participate in leadership planning meetings and ensure development plans are created and completed an ongoing basis.
  • Build and support a culture that is focused on engagement as a foundation of store routines.
  • Lead the engagement action planning process and support leaders in delivering effective and meaningful action plans.
  • Own the annual performance appraisal process for both salaried and hourly employees by ensuring content is cascaded accurately and rolled up in a proactive and timely manner. Partner with Total Rewards on all aspects of performance appraisal and merit increase process, from prevalidations to audits.
  • Coach and train field leadership team and elevate field management team on various HR aspects such as: discipline, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Support HR onboarding for District Managers and Store Leadership.
  • Conduct regular HR reviews.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • 35 years of HR retail leadership experience or combined people management equivalence College degree in Human Resources required
  • Knowledge of Canadian Employment law and sounds HR judgment
