Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator:


Primary Purpose:

The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of stakeholder and alumni engagement programs designed to support engagement priorities and the mission, vision, and values of the University of Saskatchewan.

This position will also be the primary administrative support for the University of Saskatchewan Retirees Association (USRA). This position is a key supporting role in building stakeholder affinity, deepening relationships, and increasing engagement with the university.

Advancement provides leadership for engagement strategies, programs and services to strengthen the relationship between the university and our stakeholders. We engage our stakeholders through a variety of communications, events, volunteerism, affinity programs, group benefits and recognition programs.

The office also serves as the corporate home for the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association, a not-for-profit agency representing more than 169,000 alumni worldwide.


Nature of Work:

Reporting to the Director, Alumni and External Engagement, the Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator works on a.4 basis to support the University of Saskatchewan Retirees Association (USRA).

This work will include administration, project coordination, relationship building and communications work related to the needs of USRA.

The Coordinator will work on a.6 basis to support the portfolio of alumni engagement programs, focused on advancing the mission of the university and the goals of the University Relations strategic plan.


As a member of the Advancement team, the Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator will work collaboratively with professionals within University Relations to ensure the support and coordination of stakeholder engagement activities.

The incumbent will develop strong collaborative relationships to facilitate the delivery of strategic engagement programs and services.


Strong interpersonal skills, a high level of motivation, client focus, cultural sensitivity, creativity, and problem solving will be required to established and maintain the level of personal relations that support exceptional collaboration.

Confidentiality and discretion is required as the position works with sensitive information. Consequence of error is significant for the university and its reputation and relationships with stakeholders. The position may involve work outside of the University's normal operating hours.

University Relations is responsible for institutional advancement programs (Advancement, Strategic Communications, and Operations and Services), and as such is dedicated to supporting the related needs of all colleges, units and the university as a whole.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities:


_ USRA_

  • Liaise with and provide administrative support for the University of Saskatchewan Retirees Association (USRA). Effectively prepare and create a variety of documents, reports, correspondence, presentations and packages as required in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Serve as project administrator for conferences, events and meetings.
  • Receive and triage incoming inquiries, creating a positive experience for all contacts that get in touch, and independently make judgements on how to direct those inquiries.
  • Provide support for coordination and implementation of engagement strategies.
