We are currently looking to hire an Accounts Payable person that is also able to assist with accounting/bookkeeping duties as well.

Your knowledge and experience will enable you to step in to fill these other roles in the Accounting Department when required.

You will have 2-3 years of accounts payable experience. Ideally you will also have additional experience in performing other Accounting and bookkeeping functions. This position is suited to the professional who thrives in a changing and challenging environment. Remuneration will be based on experience & educational background

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure invoices forwarded to appropriate department/branches for processing
  • Ensure accurate coding and approval of all Accounts Payable invoices
  • Enter all coded invoices into accounting system daily
  • Process biweekly cheque/EFT runs and weekly quick pay
  • Process monthly Petro and Esso statement for gas expenses
  • Prepare monthly custom GST payment
  • Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
  • Investigate and resolve any Accounts Payable issues
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • File all A/P documentation including outstanding and paid invoice
  • Maintain accurate vendor records
  • Month end and year end support
  • Maintain customer records
  • Process credit card payments and preauthorization
  • Daily reconciliation and interfacing of A/R
  • Enter daily cash receipts
  • Month end and year end support
  • General support to the accounting team
  • Other ad hoc duties

You possess the following education, experience & skills:

  • 2-3 years as an Accounts Payable Professional
  • 12 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping and payroll
  • Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Wellhoned computer skills allow you to process a large volume of work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office products such as Excel & Work
Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, wage offered will be based on education & experience
