Job Summary

Job Duties

  • Assists management in the attainment of goals related to Health and Safety with visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of employees and the environment while simultaneously supporting productivity among the workforces.
  • Maintains a steady presence on the job site and routinely ensures employees are performing tasks and responsibilities in adherence to the rules and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and perform regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and guarantee compliance.
  • Comprehends and assists with the implementation and management of all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with team members to promote safety awareness and provide training on safe work practices.
  • Participate and support incident investigations and near miss events.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to all health and safety related activities.
  • Completes and provides daily site audits and takes an active role in weekly site inspections.

Education/Qualifications

  • 12 years job related experience performing tasks related to Health and Safety.
  • Completion or actively pursuing a Health and Safety related Designation such as:
  • National Health and Safety Officer (NCSO)
  • Occupational Health and Safety from Lambton College
  • Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate from Fanshawe College
  • Extensive knowledge with common Health & Safety regulations and best practices and specific knowledge with Ontario legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license

  • Temporary-Full Time Position
  • Located in Sarnia, Ontario
  • 10.5 hours of work per day
  • 6/1 Rotation Schedule
  • Day Shift Position
