Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Use modern modeling software to develop, modify, and validate predictive statistical models to increase commercial line sophistication and refine strategic positioning.
- Conduct analysis to address insurance issues; propose quality solutions and work through the implementation of key strategic models.
- Develop, validate, and maintain actuarial reports to meet business needs.
- Monitor the key performance indicators of the Commercial portfolio, and report to management as necessary.
- Participate in coaching and mentoring of junior staff.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally across actuarial, underwriting, data science functions to enhance the commercial lines offering.
- Perform other duties as assigned, handling special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or other related field of study.
- Pursuing ACAS or FCAS with a minimum of 6 Associateship Exams & VEE Credits.
- Minimum of 4 years' prior work experience in insurance or related field.
- Positive attitude. Ability to adapt to change. A team player.
- Innovative. Strong analytical skills. A critical thinker.
- Understanding of database systems and how to interpret/extract data from those systems.
- Ability to ask effective questions to elicit detailed and relevant information.
- Proficiency with relevant modeling software such as Emblem and R would be an asset.
- Proficiency with GIS software would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Radar is preferred.
