Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for an Ops and Projects Coordinator to join our Control Center team. This position reports to the Supervisor, SPCC System Planning, Ops and Projects in the Pipeline Services Division.

The Control Centre Ops and Projects Team plays a pivotal role in the commissioning and execution of both new and existing projects within Pembina.

The Team provides technical and operational support for the Sherwood Park Control Center (SPCC), Hydraulics, Engineering, System Development and our Business Unit Commercial Teams.


Responsibilities:


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide and facilitate input into projects in a timely manner to support project schedules;
  • Work with Engineering, Optimization, Hydraulics and System Development teams to optimize and improve pipeline network operation;
  • Participate in engineering related activities: design reviews, operations and maintenance reviews, Control Narrative/SDK reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning activities, etc;
  • Ensure projects are compliant with Pembina and industry standards / practices related to pipeline operations;
  • Work with Capital Project Teams to develop acceptable solutions to design issues, schedule constraints, cost escalation, etc;
  • Act as a Management of Change Subject matter expert and support the coordination of MOC's;
  • Support SPCC in resolving operational issues via workflow tracking system;
  • Collaborate with SCADA and Leak Detection teams through design and commissioning of new and upgraded projects;
  • Identifying economic drivers to be explored from an Optimization perspective;
  • Ensure safety hazards are identified and eliminated through the design process and ensure that any remaining hazards are documented and mitigated through other acceptable means;
  • Visibly demonstrate our commitment and personal accountability to Pembina's "Zero by Choice" safety culture and foster this in your team;
  • Incorporate safety processes and practices to all workrelated activities, safe operating, and design limits; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Job Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of related industry experience;
  • Experience across all green and brown field project phases: engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning;
  • Leading and developing project deployment strategies within system control and operational environments;
  • Experience in safe operating pipeline practices, industry standards and codes;
  • Experience with Management of Change process and experience in evolving project execution process;
  • Demonstrated aptitude and knowledge of SCADA and Leak Detection software;
  • Demonstrated ability to make appropriate decisions towards pipeline systems operation;
  • High business acumen and problemsolving skills with an ability to identify prospective opportunities and challenges, articulating the prospective value through metrics and analytics, in both data rich and data poor scenarios;
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of rolling out change across multiple stakeholder groups;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present, influence and collaborate at all levels, using plain language to enable diverse groups to connect, freely communicate and understand each other;
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fastpaced, dynamic work environment where priorities are always changing; and
