    Position Description:
  • Join the AOMTU team and help improve patient flow, outcomes and experience
  • The Ambulance Offload and Medicine Transition Unit (AOMTU) was created to add bed capacity to offload patients more efficiently from Ambulance Paramedics to our emergency department, along with supporting our ongoing efforts to improve patient flow. More timely patient transitions will increase our ability to provide each patient with the world-class care, exceptional service and compassion we would want for our loved ones. The facility be comprised of Ambulance Offload and Inpatient Beds.

Rotation/Shifts:

Days, Saturday and Sunday, 2/3 weekends, 8 hour shifts (07:00-15:00).

Basic Requirements:


  • Grade 10;
  • The Ottawa Hospital Environmental Services Certification or equivalent;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (NVCI);
  • Ability to perform regular cleaner scope of tasks for the

Offload Medicine Transition Unit:
cleaning of public washrooms, discharges and common areas (working with chemicals, must wear PPE).
