Victor is currently recruiting for a
Bilingual
Claims Examiner in our Errors and Omissions Department to work with independent adjusters, technical experts, and legal counsel to develop and coordinate defence strategies to bring professional liability insurance claims to a prompt and final resolution.

We will count on you to:

  • Review and assess new claims to determine coverage and take appropriate action.
  • Retain and instruct lawyers/adjusters when required.
  • Receive and review reports from service providers.
  • Determine liability, value of claim, service provider fees and sets reserves accordingly.
  • Coordinate and control progress of files including liaison with lawyers, adjusters, insurers and insureds.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and correspondence pertinent to ongoing operation.
  • Liaise with underwriting department with respect to claims.
  • Respond to brokers/insureds/insurers inquiries.
  • Report to insurers on large claims and presents files at semiannual insurer meetings.
  • Prepare for and attends settlement conferences and mediations.
  • Conduct internal audits.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to insureds and brokers as well as "inhouse" presentations/seminars.
  • May be required to write loss control bulletins and claims procedures discussion papers.
  • May be required to participate in loss control seminars and company events.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What you need to have:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Education background and work experience relating to one or more of the following areas: insurance, claims adjusting, legal, accounting, financial, economics, medical or mathematics field.
  • Effective problem solver and strong analytical skills in order to analyze problems and develop/implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in order to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Service oriented professional with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively function in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail
