Landtran Logistics Inc.
has a Full-Time vacancy for a qualified Class 1 preferably or Class 3 with Air Brakes driver in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
You will be responsible for:
general freight, deliveries, home delivery of medical supplies within Winnipeg, Manitoba and surrounding areas, (it may require occasional overnight trips) and occasional warehouse duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Load and unload truck, either individually or with assistance of dock workers, with or without mechanical freighthandling equipment.
- Perform lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
- Inspect truck for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck and trailer at the end of each trip or tour of duty
- Deliver freight as per customer requirements
- Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Some computer skills (Internet & Microsoft Office software)
- Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1) preferably
- Class 3 with Air brakes endorsement minimum
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
- Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
- Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight trucks with power tail gate
- Type of Travel: Shorthaul, Loca
l, Monday to Friday OT after 9 hours - Expectation of hours
Documentation Knowledge:
- Driver logbook (elogs knowledge an asset)
- Bill of lading
- Inspection report (pretrip, enroute, posttrip)
- Maintenance and repair reports
- Accident or incident reports
- Dangerous goods occurrence reports
- Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, (PeopleNet Tablet knowledge an asset)
- Weight Handling: Up to 35 kg (77 lbs.)
Specific Skills:
- Safely operate and drive straight trucks to transport medical supplies
- Loading and unloading of medical supplies into patient homes
- Ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Plan travel schedules and routes
- Receive and relay information to central dispatcher
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
- Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service
- Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steeltoed safety boots

Travel Information:
Own transportation, Valid driver's license
